Usually when it comes to losing weight I have focused on what I am losing: I cannot have what I want. It been about deprivation and and making changes from what I want to do. That is what keeps me from making progress in the weight loss department. But what I truly want is to be is lighter... a lot lighter and healthier.

But what has turning toward a healthier lifestyle brought me? What am I getting for my efforts?
Exercise produces:
- More energy.
- Less aches and pains.
- Move fluid movement.
- Better posture
- Being stronger
Nutrious foods brings:
- Silkier skin.
- Nice nails.
- Less illness, better health
- less lethargy, more energy
- quicker healing
Meditation results in:
- Reduced stress
- Reduced fat producing hormones
- Eliminates stress eating
- Better focus
- Clears my mind for problem solving

    I'm Healthier than I've been in many years.
Quit drinking alcohol 6 years ago. No cravings.
Can now Walk over 10,000 steps a day.

    Great blog. We always tend to look at the negative and not see the positive. I am going to keep this in mind when that cake or ice cream is calling my name.

    Great reminder! I was just asking myself this very question...what's the point? Until the proof starts to be seen it's hard to imagine or remember what victory feels like. That would be a good visualization- imagine what it feels like to embody all of the wonderful qualities you list above- like an Olympic athlete before an event visualizing her triumph, I too can benefit from this practice. We all can. Thanks Nancy.

    What a fabulous blog you have just written !
In answer to your question, I have lost some weight, and enjoy wearing
a smaller size, now ! ( size 14 !)
I also enjoy working out in the pool, swimming and doing my lift-ups,
in the deep end. In the shallow end, I do the twist .

    Rather than focus on the negatives I've been having the past week or so. I've noticed postive things since making small steps to a healthier life.

I've cut out late night eating. Drinking my water has given me a lighter complexion, I don't feel bloated. I've added one green to my diet(it's a step) which is spinach. And I've had more energy since eating them, and I'm less hungry.

I can tie my shoes without being out breath.
