Yikes! My Last Blog was in July!!

Monday, September 23, 2013

Can't believe it has been almost 2 months since I last posted.
Time really does fly when you're having fun!
I've had a lot of action in my life in recent months. Lots of good action, but unfortunately a bunch of bad stuff as well.

First the bad. As it has for the past couple of years, this concerns my now 20-yo son, who has gotten himself into so much trouble, I don't even know how he'll ever get out of it. I've had to learn the hard lesson of having to let go. This is still ongoing, and somehow I think this will never go away.

Moving on...

As I mentioned in my previous blog, I have met a wonderful guy.
With a like-minded partner, eating healthy and exercising are easy and fun.

Back in August we spent an awesome week hiking and exploring Arizona's Rim Country. The Apache and Sitgreaves National Forests are located in east-central Arizona and contain more than two million acres of mountainous terrain.

This is what you see, anywhere you look.

Tree roots and rocks fighting for the same space.

On top of the Rim.

At Fort Apache.

Kinishba Ruins, a 600-room ancestral Puebloan village located in the White Mountains that dates back to 1250 A.D.

Beautiful mountain streams.

Awesome cloud formations.

We took lots of pictures.

And here's a glimpse at Mr. Wonderful :)

I've had to scale back on my extreme hiking a little bit to free up some weekend space for similarly important activities and am watching the scale closely, should there be an uptrend due to diminished physical activity.
Playing the fine-tuning game once again.
Oh yeah, fine-tuning, that is one thing maintenance is full of, for sure.

Happy sparking y'all.
I'll post again soon.

I know how hard it is to "let go" of a child with problems. I will tell you that my 33-yo daughter told me recently that letting go of her at age 20, in the midst of much trouble, was the best thing I ever did for her: she knew she no longer had me to bail her out and that forced her to take control of her own life! Glad she sees it this way, I was only trying to maintain my own sanity in an insane situation!

Your hiking pictures are amazing. I'm glad you've found a great guy; he sounds like the Soulmate you definitely deserve!!

Sorry about your son, he is still young with plenty of time to fix his life. Having one's family's support has always been one of the best ways to fix one's life.

Mr. Wonderful, I remember meeting him on the trails!!! Glad your life is so full of love & light.

Others may have had different experiences, but.... My younger son was a terror and got into a lot of trouble during his late teens and early 20's. Lots of tears (on my part!) lots of anger (on his part). At 30 he was a different person. Now, at 40, he has done an amazing job of turning himself around. He has an excellent job; he's bought a huge, beautiful house, and is living his life just the way he wants - in awe of his "good luck". I hope your son will also find the good man inside the lost boy.

Sounds like the man in your life is working out well. I'm happy for you.

Of course I'm a tiny bit green with envy at your control of your health; you've made an art of balancing food and exercise. Well done!

And, I love the photos. Thanks for sharing!

Wonderful photos.....thanks so much for sharing. Beautiful.
Sorry about your son. I had a nephew that was a mess. He never did get it together and unfortunately committed suicide. It was hard on my sister but really nothing she could have done about it accept get him counseling which we all wish we had done.

But so happy to read that you are in a good positive relationship. that is awesome!
Have a terrific day.
Sallie
