Which wedding dress!? HELP ME!

Monday, September 23, 2013

I've been looking at wedding dresses off an on for a year now. I've been to 5 different salons and maybe tried on a total of 20 dresses. Feels like a lot... I know people say that you won't feel like they do on TV, and actually, I've felt quite the opposite. I can't decide and its skewing my perception of these dresses. The first dress I tried on was an A-line, I liked it, but the bottom was too plain, finally, somebody put me in a fit and flare, and I loved the shape of it. I worked hard the past two years to get my waist and hips, so I wanted to show them off. That's where this dress comes in: Its soft, light weight, and hugs my hips. I actually like the bottom of it, but I feel like the top is too plain. Our colors are plum and silver, so that would be a plum sash (they only had black in the store)

Dress 1: Strapless, sweetheart top, Fit and Flare, Pickups and zippered back (the sash I tried on when we got a picture of the back was a jeweled one, but it didn't look good)

back: also, don't mind the bra... sorry

Dress two was back to an A-line, my mom, maid of honor and the consultant all said they loved it, but for some reason, I was stuck on that fit and flare. Its a beautiful dress, but again, just afraid of making the wrong decision... annoying.

Dress 2: Strapless, A line, Corset Back, Long Train

Back: Again, don't mind the bra or slip - this one was one size too small:

Also, need to work on major back fat issues going on here, haha.
So, what looks good on me, ladies?

I think the 2nd one is very sweet and flattering, but ultimately YOU need to LOVE your dress! I believe, when you put it on, you will know. I guess that means you might need to keep looking if you can't decide.

I LOVE dress #2. The back is beautiful and will show off your hard earned back side.

But to really tell, I would try and put your hair close to how you will have it for the wedding, that way you get the "look" also try them on with shoes in the same heel length and walk around. You may find one that is easier to walk in and that might be the deal breaker!

But you will look good no matter what!

I think you look lovely in both, but I think #2 is more flattering.
As for the trauma of choosing my dress....well I got married 37 years ago with a little hippie flair - made my dress -simple princess style with a sweetheart neck and little zippers at the ends of the sleeves. I embroidered crewel-work blue and green all over the wide sash, and then on the shoulders when I scorched it a little ironing it. When my older son got married I made the embroidered parts into the ring bearer's pillow...
Sorry! Thanks for letting me go on and on and on.

I vote for the fit and flare gown. You worked hard for that shape and you should show it off!

I like them both, but I think I like #2 better! However, I love the shape of the first dress on you, just not the 'pick-ups'.

You will look lovely in either one!

Both are gorgeous but my vote is for the 2nd dress. Not only is it a little more interesting, but I honestly think it gives you a nicer silhouette with a defined waistline.

Whichever you end up choosing, you're going to look simply gorgeous!!!

Although I think the first one fits you beautifully I have to say I prefer the second one. But as the others have said it is YOUR day and you should choose whichever one makes YOU feel the most special. You look hot in either one so you are good either way!

#1 - try it again with your hair up and a sparkly necklace and the top won't seem so plain.

I agree with go with the fit and flare. You looked amazing in it. as Meneff said you look super slimming in the dress and it hits the right spots.

Sort of like #2. #1 is plain. However, you seem to like the fit & flare better so... GO WITH WHICHEVER YOU FEEL THE BEST IN OR ABOUT. It's your dress. You have to wear it. Now that you seem to have narrowed it down to these 2 it's probably time to stop gown shopping. After a while it's too overwhelming.

Stop second guessing yourself and choose whichever gown makes you feel best/most beautiful.

Good Luck! emoticon You'll look beautiful no matter what!

You can't go wrong with either dress, they are both beautiful. My personnel style would be the first dress, and it looks fantastic on you. If you are concerned that the top is too plain you could try a longer veil with it, sometimes that makes a huge difference in how it looks.

I personally LOVE the top one (the fit & flare)! you look amazing and super slim in that dress. it hits all the right spots!!

but your wedding dress is YOUR wedding dress.. Go with your gut! Don't over think it.
