Interesting curve ball.

I have gotten to know one of my neighbors. I stopped at her home this morning to find her looking like death rolled over. I originally stopped to drop off a few things I found for her that I thought would be helpful, to find her sick as a dog.

So since she's too weak to argue with me today, I did her dishes that haven't been done all weekend, got her youngest dressed and took her home with me. So now she can relax without having to worry about a little one around the house having to be taken care of and get better, at least for the day. I planned on chicken noodle soup anyhow, so I'm making it stretch so her kids can eat something good tonight too.

I know how it feels to be that sick and have to still feed the kids. Since she's a single mom, she doesn't have the ability to just hand them off to Dad when he gets home. I'm lucky enough to have that chance and that my kids are now old enough to take care of themselves for a little while.

I wasn't even thinking about babysitting trading at the time, I just wanted to help out a neighbor. My mother just called me and mentioned babysitting trading. It might be an idea.

I'm just glad that I can help out a fellow mom when she really needs it. I'm hoping she trusts me enough to use my babysitting services when she needs it so she can make sure she takes care of herself.

Hope she feels better soon. Good thing you were there for them!
When I lived in town, I watched out for the neighborhood kids, too.
Moms are often over taxed trying to do it all.

That was a really nice thing to do. I'm sure your neighbor was surprised and appreciated the offer. It's even nicer that you did not expect anything in return for your kindness. emoticon

My only concern would be being taken advantage of. I'm certain you will watch out for that.

You are a good neighbor.

That was so nice of you to do. As a mom that has had to take care of her kids when I've been sick as a dog, I can't tell you what that means to just have someone you trust watch your kid for you so that you can sleep even if it's only for a few hours. I'm sure she appreciated it so much. emoticon
