A couple of months ago, I signed up for a SparkPeople virtual 5k run. Yesterday I ran it!! I didn't have to take any walking breaks, and had a time of 37:11. I had 7 days to finish the run, but I figured why not do it on day 1? I was worried something might come up to prevent me from doing it later in the week. I definitely pushed a little harder knowing my run was being timed, and I don't know if I would've gotten out if not for the virtual race commitment. I think I'll sign up for another one!!
I'm pretty sure Bootcamp is helping me improve my running in 2 ways: getting more fit is making it easier for my body to keep running, and going through brutal workouts and surviving is making it easier to tell myself "You CAN do this!!" (and actually believe it). Sometimes I think the mental aspect of running is more important than the physical shape you're in.
