First day off Fall and proof of God's Grace

Sunday, September 22, 2013

Today was extraordinary and highly active even though I slept in.
First I went to church with the husband.

Walked the dogs at the park for 45 mins. Walking the 3 fur babies without the hubby is no easy feat but it went well.

(Niles was acting melodramatic again)

I dropped off the kids at home with the hubby, and left them with some doggy ice cream to cool down. (The dogs not the hubby, hubby can fend for himself, I think) My pug gets overheated doggy ice cream helps cool her down.

Then I went back to the park and rented a B-Cycle. First time ever but definitely won't be my last. I think my next weight goal reward will be for a yearly $60 b cycle membership. I have a bike but its a pain to unload and load. Rode the bike for 1 hour ($12 not bad)

Then I stretched in the park and noticed I was 500 steps short of my daily 10, 000 goal. So now I'm 1 hour into a greenway hike along the San Antonio Riverwalk Mission Reach! Way surpassing my daily step goal!

To think 2 years ago I weighed in at the doctors office at 271.5 pounds. I went to the doctor Thursday to get some paperwork filled and I weighed in at 240.2. Id been battling diabetes and a skin infection. Then the skin infection got so bad that in May I got sepsis and in June I had to have surgery to remove infected glands and skin tissue. Now 3 months later, I'm hiking, biking and dog walking all in the same day?!?!? AMAZING!

The surgeon wasn't able to get all the bad tissue and some of it is coming to the surface. I have to go back next month and have a different procedure done but not as invasive. Despite these challenges today I did multiple activities and can say I have truly lived. I wished I could have shared this experience with my hubby today but he said he has too much stuff to do today. Its ok though Dave Matthews and Jesus walked and biked with me. :p Today's adventure follows a 2.5 hour gym workout from yesterday.

Thank you Jesus! I feel absolutely blessed.

Which begs the question, are you truly living? Have you experienced God's grace? Or for non religious friends are you enjoying life? If so please share in your Joy by commenting on this blog. And if not, its not too late to get started. How do you plan to get out there and live?
Bless you SparkFriends!

Finished today with over 15, 000 steps! And my weekly steps are an all time high! Holy cow that's alot of miles!

You whooped yesterday like a boss! That's awesome! I would love to be able to do so much activity in one day. You're good example that it's possible!

I'm non-religious, but try to live life as best I can every day. I spend a lot of time being bored because I am disabled and at home 90% of the time, but when the opportunity to do something fun comes along, I grab it and hold on tight to that sucker!

Hope your week is starting off well!

You kicked it. It's a beautiful thing when you see where you are and where you came from. I realize that in time if you continue to focus, you'll reach the goal. When I'm running and I am at mile 2 and got 10 more to go I have to say to myself - take it Step by Step. Then when I reach the half way point and I retracing my steps - "I say see you remember you were here and how you felt - now this is in the rear view mirror". I also remember some of the adversity I had to overcome to continue to run and I am thankful that I can still do it.

But to you: emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
