Wk 128 Weigh In

Saturday, September 21, 2013

Well, I'm another week closer to my passing. This is a technically correct sentence, don't give me any lip.

This was a better week than the last one. Not a very triumphant week, but still better. The highlight of the week was watching the 2 seasons of the tv show The New Girl with Zooey Deschanel on Netflix. I liked it. I always seem to find a character on a show that I really associate with, one that seems to capture who I am (it's never 100% accurate though as a lot of the characters that I feel most like seem to be heavy drinkers and I rarely drink anymore).
On The New Girl it's a character named Nick, sort of the male lead of the show, a surly, angry sort of guy who is living below his potential. Yes, every character I associate myself is severely flawed.

Anyway, let's move on to the numbers for this week.

Weight : 211.6
Lost : 0.6
Total : 108.4

Yep, a small loss of 0.6 lbs. But at least it's a loss and not another gain. Hopefully I will be cast free after Wednesday and can resume going to the gym. That should help me get back to where I was when I broke my hand!

Have a great weekend.

Glad to hear your cast will be off soon. You have been holding your own pretty well for a guy with severe character flaws emoticon

You remind me of the Judd Hirsch character on the sit com TAXI. He was surrounded by dreamers and schemers who wanted more from life than driving a taxi. By contrast driving a taxi was his real job. On one particular episode it was quite evident when there was a collage of dream sequences where Elaine was dancing, Bobbie on Broadway and the Tony Danza character winning a big boxing match.....Judd Hirsch couldn't come up with anything to fantasize about so his dream sequence was just another day.

I think we are all largely in the same boat living the same existence except some of us are Bobbies, some of us are Elaines ( some are even Danny Devitos ) and some are Judd Hirschs.

Whatever makes you just have to be you...see no LIP.

Nice loss.

    Lip lip lip.
Congrats on the loss, great work.
You will be glad to get the cast off and they might have a management plan after that (look at me with the medical terms :)).
There are a lot of things we can't change about ourselves and our situations we can look for those tiny times of difference that give us a moment of happiness and then string them together with all the other ones that make a memory and smile.

Somehow I missed the fact that you had a cast on - man that makes it hard to work at goals like exercise. You have really been through some tough ordeals lately. So all the more reason to celebrate a half pound plus loss. You didn't let it defeat you - instead you made progress! Watch out scale when you get back to the gym! it will be cool to see you enter into "Onederland" (under 200). You are so close! You can do it.
