What joy you can give to someone you love by giving them a hand-written note or letter. There is something so personal, as well as a feeling of closeness when you receive a hand-written letter or note.

I pull out my mother's letters and notes to me from time to time. What a wonderful gift they are. Although she is longer here, I can feel her presence through her written words. And each time I read them, I learn something more about her.

Today people e-mail and hand-written notes or letter are rare. I am hoping to revive the art in my life and pass it on.

I try to make a point of writing notes to my grown children just to tell them how much I love and respect them. They send me old fashioned notes too and I save every one!

I still write notes occasionally-- and I have saved some very special letters. My mom gave me letters that were written by my grandfather to my grandmother in the early years of their marriage. The script handwriting is really artistic-- and the postage stamps are two cents! These are treasured love letters. . (yellowed from age)--
Thanks for this message!

I love a hand written letter too, it is so much more personable than texting or emailing!

Great idea. I love to get letters. Don't write many though. My handwriting is atrocious.

Excellent idea! I write letters to friends but I type them because my handwriting can be hard to read for some of them. Been bad since a very young child. lol I like sending out cards too. I can sign those with a small note! Thanks for the reminder. Personal is always so special!

Great blog. I have some letters written to my late Dad after World War II from his buddies in the war and from some villagers he met while serving in Europe. I read them from time to time and it's an awesome experience. Thank you and have a wonderful, blessed weekend. Bob.

i have hand written letters from my sons , they made projects in school
like kindergarten. I recall once my youngest son got mad at me . I came to his home
handed him a card he had made in kindergarten. I said something like

I love you mommy all messed up & colored. He hugged me . That is love
save precious letters and drawings
