How do our brains create memories? Are our memories stored in some sort of “memory bank”?

I found an interesting article in our newspaper. Someone asked the doctor about how our memories are storied in our brain.

Thank for the interesting article. The brain is amazing in all of its functions and abilities........I now understand why some events are quickly forgotten and others will never be forgotten ( though I wish i could forget them )!

Very intersting article on how the brain works... Me? Since I have deafness ( I can hear with my hearing aids even though I have severe hearing loss... I learn by listening to people conversations which sometimes works and I ask on topic they say oh we're talking on.... ( hit or miss whoops) emoticon
I learn mainly visuals and gestures ...and like studying the communication on post messages on SP... When really tired read captions on tv or movie read book or draw pictures for a while emoticon

Interesting! The stage called acquisition? I have ADHD and years ago I learned that to remember things, I needed to ACTIVELY process whatever I was doing and not have too many things going on at once especially if what I was learning was important. Now with MS cognitive issues, I am finding out it is the same process. Once the memory is there, I do okay. Thanks for sharing! emoticon
