Good Things Come In Three's!

Friday, September 20, 2013

We've all heard the old saying "Good things come in 3's." Unfortunately there is an old saying that is the same about BAD things. But as I was thinking over my day last night, I made the comment to my DH that "today was a good day."

1. The house plans that we have waited so (im)patiently for are finally done. Now they go to Engineering which will take 1-1/2 weeks. But it's progress!

2. The stump that was removed from our property was left where it was pulled out. We were told by the man removing it that someone wanted to look at it and see if he could make a table out of it. We said it was OK to leave it, but then we regretted that decision as it's been there for over 2 weeks. Now the man is back and he said he is planning on moving it today!

3. While pulling weeds in the yard; I discovered my crepe myrtle came back to life since the fire. It had been burned and run over several times by trucks and CATs, so it's fight for survival must have been very strong. It is now almost 18 inches high.
You see, if we look on the emoticon side of life we will be rewarded with emoticon things on our journey through life.

Moral of the story: Dwell on the good in your life, not on the bad.

After every bad thing, 3 times, good things come, so they say. But it does not always happen that way. Having friends helps bring the good things into view, and helps push the bad things away.

I am think possitive after the membrane operation and looking forward to seeing once again in 4 weeks when the gas balloon, over the retina, is gone. I hope this is the last bad thing in my life.

I agree and even the bible tells us to "think on good things"...whatever is pure, lovely, etc. Attitude and thankfulness is so important. Grumbling never gets a person anywhere but angry and depressed.

excited for you and your hubby to have a brand new house!
