Today is Day 731 of my fitness streak (we had a Leap Year so it is 730 days +1)!! That is two full years of doing at least 2 hours of intentional fitness (usually more though) every single day. I am making it a low key day today with walking, a little time on the elliptical and some yoga, but it will add up to about 3 hours by the time I am done.
So, what happens now?
I have kayaking plans for Sunday, but tomorrow I might only do 100 minutes, just to prove to myself that less than 120 minutes won't weird me out. Sunday I am doing a long paddle on Lake Chautauqua. It is the End to End Challenge with the outfitter we paddle with all summer. It marks the "end" of the paddling season, but of course we keep paddling! The weekend of the 28th my brother, Jeremy, and I are doing the Paddle for the Cure up in the Adirondacks on Saturday, then the Paddle through the Canal through the Seneca-Cayuga Canal on Sunday. The weather is getting more unsettled as we drift into Fall, but we have paddled in 36 degree weather, so we should be fine. Last year we paddled until November. I am going to have to rethink my fitness and nutrition once the kayaking season is over. Maybe I will start running more consistently again. It has been almost 3 weeks since I have gone out for a run. Maybe I should go for a short run tomorrow after I get back from my parents' house.
I never imagined how active I would become when I joined SP. I thought I would lose 50 or 60 pounds and be able to walk comfortably. Wow! My goals have definitely evolved. I have lost 160 pounds and do so much more than just walk. It feels good to be so active. I definitely have a new lease on life!!
