Haven't found much time to blog this month since starting the new school year. My plan is working great, though, and I'm so happy. This year I don't go in the staff room at all, except just to quickly check my mail cubby in the morning, and right before I leave. I eat my lunch in front of a computer, where I plan my next day's menu. This makes it so I don't have to take the time to do that in the evenings.
I taught my second money management class in Spanish last night, and it went very well. This time 5 students showed up, instead of just one like last week. I am teaching them about how to create and use a budget. After class I got to thinking about how SparkPeople has been like a budget for me, only in the eating/exercise department. I have my "spending categories": grams of fat, protein, carbs, and calories, and I have my "income": calories burned and minutes of exercise logged. It makes it so easy and so freeing, just like a money budget allows you to do the things you want and have planned for without feeling guilty. For example, I can take a few minutes this morning to blog because I have already done all my exercise required for the week, so I don't have to feel guilty about not using this time to go on another walk. I love it!
