Body measurements: the tale of the tape

Friday, September 20, 2013

Body measurements: I don't really take them. Is it just me, or is this a "gender thing"?

Anyway, I came across, the body measurements I actually did take of myself when I first start SparkPeople two years ago. So, of course, I had to retake them. Here are the results:

Waist: down 7" emoticon
Hips: down 3" emoticon
Neck: down 1" (now if I could only do something about that fat head! emoticon )
Thigh: down 3.5 inches emoticon
Calf: down 1 1/3 inches emoticon
Upper arm: down 3 inches emoticon

Wow. That turned out better than I expected. Okay, next measurements in another two years.

Spark on friends.

Every 2 years? Sounds like a good interval! Nice results there on the inches lost!

measurements are a great indicator of what is really going on. The scale shows the weight of fat, muscle, water, etc. The measure shows true progress. It is kind of like temperature and perceived temperature based on humidity and wind chill. I don't measure very often either, I let my waist band on my pants do that, if they are tight, I got bigger! I now look forward to blood tests, those numbers tell a tale of what is going on too. Before I started on this journey, my numbers were not that good, but now they are greatly improved.

Great results! All those steps add up to great things! Healthy eating adds to that too.
