List: what's better now that I'm smaller?

Thursday, September 19, 2013

I don't usually blog, but I've been thinking about all the things that make me smile when I realize another new thing that's better than when I was heavy. Here are some things you can look forward to as you shrink:

When I lay down at night, I can lace my fingers across my belly and rest my elbows on the mattress. Used to they wouldn't reach.

Getting in my boat makes me smile. It's a pleasure now that I have the strength to pull myself out of the water, and can reach the handles without having to struggle across my belly.

Rings I haven't worn in years fit.

I don't recognize myself in pictures.

Sex - anything more would be TMI... :-)

Shopping in the regular department.

Wearing clothes that show my shape instead of tents from plus size catalogs.

Showering is easier and faster.

Can squeeze between the dining room chair and the wall - impassable before.

Can fit in booths and don't have to always ask for a table.

Outdoor folding chairs aren't at a risk of collapsing from my weight.

Lots of tax breaks from donating my old wardrobe.

Frequently hearing 'you look great'!

Gardening, I don't lose my breath just from bending over to plant.

And things just keep popping up! More to come as I work toward having a BMI in the normal range.
