antibiotics in organic fruit? foods that constipate and foods that give relief

Thursday, September 19, 2013

I have a problem with constipation. So I decided to look into foods that cause it.
Not the most lady like subject but hey, when you got to go, you got to go and if you can't, it feels like having a baby with no reward.

7 foosa That can cause constipation:
Dairy foods
red meat
chips
frozen dinners
cookies
unripened green banana's ripe ones can help get relief
greasy fried foods

10 foods that help relieve constipation
raspberries, strawberries, blackberries
air popped popcorn
beans
dried fruit
whole grain bread
high fiber cereal
broccoli
raw fruit, like apples, plums and pears
nuts
baked potato with the skin on

Are organic foods safe. They removed one antibiotic in them and now there is another.

In April, we urged you to sign our petition to end tetracycline use in organic apple and pear orchards—and thanks to your action, we won. With your help, we convinced the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) to stop the use of this antibiotic in 2014. But, there’s one more antibiotic that some organic apple and pear farmers still use – streptomycin.

Tell the NOSB that antibiotics don’t belong in organics!

Like tetracycline, streptomycin is sprayed to prevent the spread of fire blight, a disease that can damage organic apple and pear orchards. Resistance to streptomycin is already widespread in apple and pear orchards around the country. In fact, residues of the drug have been found in apples from orchards sprayed with the antibiotic

Streptomycin is commonly used to treat human and animal infections, and its use in organic production undermines the ability of antibiotics to treat human infections. Given the mounting evidence of antibiotic resistance, the time is ripe to prohibit all antibiotics in organic once and for all.

Tell the NOSB that enough is enough—antibiotic drugs have no place in organic production, and the use of streptomycin must come to an end.

Probiotics and digestive enzymes should straighten out your gut. Probiotics especially if you are eating foods that might can antibiotics.

I know. unfortunately it is a side effect that I have frequently. I didn't know about the organic fruit either. I thought it was supposed to be so healthy.

I had no idea there were antibiotics on organic fruit! That's insane!
I wish I'd known this at the beginning of the fruit/vegetable season, I would've stockpiled the veggies from the farmer's market.

Re constipation - when I started eating Greek yogurt after seeing my low protein levels in my food tracker I had that unfortunate side-effect. It's so hard to get the balance right on all these aspects of eating healthfully.
