Day 1

Thursday, September 19, 2013

Well day 1 is almost done, thank goodness.
Reading reviews about this plan, several people said they were not hungry and they didn't even eat all the recommended food. Well that was not me. I love food and love to eat, and I found I was hungry even shortly after eating a meal, and I know I can eat more veggies but I had enough of that at the time and didn't want anymore of the same stuff, sigh. I did eat everything listed as well.

I got up, took my temp, weighed myself and tracked my sleep. For pre-breakfast I had 2 glasses of water with lemon squeezed in and a dandelion tea. It was very hard for me to drink the water 1st thing in the morning and I am not a tea drinker either. I had to add a little sugar to the tea.

For breakfast I had the homemade flax-seed granola with blueberries and coconut milk. I would recommend maybe not putting the milk on the cereal next time or eating it pretty fast because it does start to get sort of slimy at the end. It was ok but not filling at all for me.

Also I'm not sure if the flax agrees with me or just not used to it but I ended up with a bad stomach for most of the afternoon, sigh. Maybe my IBS acting up, but I hope it doesn't continue.

For lunch I had the carrot soup with sunflower seeds, salad with pumpkin seeds, pear and citrus olive oil, and steamed broccoli with the same olive oil and a squeeze of lemon. This was a large meal but still left me wanting. I will admit I'm not a huge veggie eater and I like carbs and protein with my meals.

Supper was a little smaller I found. I had carrot and beet salad with pumpkin seeds which was very bland and I had sauteed kale and mushrooms with the cocoa sauce. People also rave about the cocoa sauce. It was good but not great, and if it hadn't been for the sauce then the meal would have been pretty bland and bad.

I found it a little hard to drink 11 glasses of water today especially when you are not able to drink the water with meals and not after 7:30 in the evening, but I got it done. Think I will be going to bed early tonight. Feeling tired and off most of the day. Glad I started on a day that I could stay home and relax, don't think I would have gotten through if I was at work all day. Hope tomorrow is better, the food is pretty much the same except I think I add almonds and rice, mmmmmmm rice :)

Hope tomorrow is a little better and this gets easier

My mom cannot eat flax seeds, it does give her a stomach ache and she eats pretty much anything! emoticon

It's called The Plan by Lyn-Genet Recitas. This is an initial 3 day cleanse and then it's all about food testing to see what sensitivities I have. It's an elimination diet to find what works for me. Foods get reintroduced every 2nd day after the 3 day cleanse phase. I also get rice and almonds introduced tomorrow and chicken on day 3.

Unless there's a reason why you're not eating carbs and meat, go with what you know. Just watch your portion sizes. And remember, your stomach is used to having LOTS of food. You have to train it to be satisfied with less. By the way, if you don't like the food you're eating, then you'll go off your plan. emoticon

What kind of plan are you on? How many calories are you allowed? Protein is hwat makes you feel less hungry-are you 'in range' in your protein intake?
First few days of anything new is always tough-hang in there! emoticon
