A friend of mine asked me for help to lose weight...I have tried to help this friend since a few months into my journey, but she obviously didn't really want my help! But, when she saw my weight loss, she asked me to help her and I agreed as long as she was open to the the tough love I was going to give her!! She agreed and asked me to type up for her some things that I did to get started on my journey to a healthier me, so I thought that I would share it on here, in hopes that it would help others
BABY STEPS!! You didnt gain it over night so it wont come off over night!! And if you go too drastic too fast you will burn out and fail! Make small achievable goals and build from there :) Little by little, make these changes...maybe a few at a time if you feel ok with it! But remember, we are all DIFFERENT, so what worked for me, may NOT for you!! If not, don't get discouraged, we will work it out TOGETHER!! ;)
*Sparkpeople.com for tracking food...track EVERYTHING even if youre over! (This should be the FIRST thing you do!! And KEEP doing it!! If you see the numbers, you are more aware of what you're eating and what you're doing to your body!!)
*Another crucial thing to do throughout is DRINK WATER!! If you can't handle plain water, I slice up lemons into a pitcher of water and drink that w a packet of Stevia ;)
*Add veggies to every meal
*Change from regular to light, full fat to low fat
*Ground turkey instead of hamburger
*Turkey, chicken, fish & pork
*Use cooking spray instead of oil
*Spray butter instead of butter
*Start watching portion sizes
*Lean protein helps w cravings
*If you eat a carb, pair it w protein
*Learn to read nutrition labels and watch them! Over time, it will get easier!
*Move more...just do it! 10mins/day exercise (doesnt have to be all at once at first)...chairexercisefun.com for sitting exercises!!
*Stay in contact w others...seriously support from others is golden!! Especially in weak moments!! You can contact me in any way at any time!! I really want to help and pay forward what was given to me!!
Believe me I KNOW it is so hard to do...I KNOW...but look at me!! IT CAN BE DONE!! It just takes time and effort, and does get easier!! I am so used to these changes now, I don't even have to think about it!! If I can do it, YOU CAN DO IT!!
