Going nuts for nuts

From time to time I decide to add something new into my eating regiment, I can't really call it a diet since it gained so much bad connotation
Anyways, this time - new snack and it's NUTS.
That's not a fresh idea. but still ... a very good one:)

They get kinda bad reputation for having huge amount of calories.
Sure, when you get them salty or covered in chocolate and you eat hole bag - this is bad.
And we know how big those bag get...super size your ass, for free....ok?

The recipe for this snack is easy as buying those chocolate covered once.
Buy a pack of nuts you like put them in handy box maybe with separators.
And create yourself a pattern, like mine - 2 almond, 2 fried almond, 2 fried hazelnut, 4 peanut
No need to count calories for that every time you "prepare" it ... mine in 60 kCal.

This snack is actually brilliant ... it has only pros.
1. Nuts are very good for you, its protein and good fat.
2. They taste great, there are quite a selecting and you can choose which ones you like.
Even fried ones ain't bad at all.
3. Easy to make and carry anywhere you go.
4. Easy to eat, even if you're crowded. And nuts are snacky snack if you know what I mean:)
5. They keep you from been hungry if you had a decent meal couple of hours before.
They can't feel you up, but they give you long lasting energy source.

Unfortunately, some people are allergic to nuts, but give all kinds a try maybe some will work for you. These trials better held in a hospital:)

I couldn't agree more! I always carry a handful of almonds with me when I am feeling a little hungry and they always do their job! Yes they are calorie laden, but way better than eating six donuts instead! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

  My partner makes me a trail mix of unsalted nuts and dried fruit which I have at work if hungry. A little goes a long way and really fills you up!

    i buy snack size bags so i can premeasure 1/4 - 1/3 c of nuts for a snack. i use raw or roasted nuts. i eat them instead of chips when i crave salt.

    I like nuts, my DH loves them, always offering me a few, and it is a great snack, a few will do it for me, which is actually a rare occurrence for me, emoticon

    I really like nuts too. I've been having them for snack for a while now and they're great. Easy to prepare, like you said just count and go, it's great for long car or bus ride and it does help to get to the next meal. :-)

    Great thing is that you don't need to weigh them...you can just count...and use the same pattern.

Maybe you heard of roasted nuts:)

    I reading a book-You on a DIet in team Indy we are reading it together and their suggestion was to eat a handful of nuts before meals and you'll feel fuller and fill up faster-so I am all for it I just started eating them before meals not a huge amount and it's going well.

    I love nuts. I've never heard of fried nuts either though! As long as you weigh them out and exercise some portion control, they can fit into any eating plan because they're full of good fats. Yum Yum Yum. And you can get that crunchy fix too without having to resort to crisps (potato chips).

    Hmm, I have never heard of fried nuts,, I count out unsalted almonds,, then I drink a LOT of water with them and it DOES fill me up.. you are right, the protein holds you..
