Winding Down

Thursday, September 19, 2013

I am winding down for a while. I want to go in for water aerobics but if I keep going in the yard I will be too worn out.
Yesterday I tilled the one area again and that took about an hour. Will want to do it a time or two again before I plant the grass seed. Then I started on another area and there I put down plastic, 8 patio stones and 13 and a half bags of pea gravel. I went in the morning and got 5 bags, brought them home, unloaded them and dumped and spread them. By the time I did those 5 I had it figured out that I would need at least 8 more to finish up and three of the stones. So it was back to town to get the pea gravel and stones. Got them home tilled up a small section along what would be the border for what I was doing. Now from the patio to the storage shed are stepping stones and gravel. I went so far over and put scalloped edging and more stones going into the yard. Now it is all rocked and next year I will make planters to set down in the rock.. The grass has never grown in that area well and usually we wind up with mud so that has now been eliminated, plus Jeff moved the pool for the ducks up on some stones I had laid a couple of years ago as a place to set the trash cans. Now they can splash to their hearts content and not be wallowing in mud.
By the time I was finished yesterday evening I felt like it hurt to move. Took a hot shower and vegged.
This morning I started cleaning up the mess that was out by where the pool had been and where the rabbit pens had been. Spent over an hour tilling up the one area. Took the edging from around the one tree and tilled around it. Hopefully Michael will make it this week end and take that tree down and two others. They are all dead and I want them gone. He will be able to use the wood in his fire place. Have a bunch of other things plus two more rabbit cages for him and then I can get even more done to my back yard.
I am thinking about building a small storage shed just for my fishing stuff. I believe I know how to do it and where I will put it. Time will tell
My brother just called and he will be here in a few minutes so I had better get off here
God bless

you are one busy gal , your yard work sounds a bit like what I did this year, next year all that is left to finish is the stepping stones and patio stones, I'm also putting some all weather carpeting down in a small patio area...then my yard is complete. that is if I don't decide to either spray paint the bird bath or buy a new one, decisions, decisions, hope you enjoy your time at water aerobics... emoticon emoticon
