Devestation in Colorado

Thursday, September 19, 2013

The picture is from the flooding in Milliken. This was only about 5-6 blocks from my house. My family was safe during this. The little town where I live however turned into an island with no way in and no way out of the town. Progress is happening but very slow.

There are no words to even describe the impact this flood as had on our State. You do not realize the simple things you take for granted until you do not have them or can not do them. Going to the gym was even not possible because I could not go the two miles into the next little town to get there. I was a little shocked that I had to go to jury duty and that they did not post phone this due to situation of the county. To even get there I had to drive 10 miles in the opposite direction of where I needed to go to get to a road that would take me back east. It added 30 miles and 40 minutes just to be able to do this. I am only one of many so you can imagine when everyone is having to do the same thing what the traffic looks like.

My prayers go out to the people in Colorado who are not as fortunate as my family was.

I'm down in Denver and even though it rained everyday here last week, it's nothing compared to what happened to you all over there. My heart breaks for our state and all this devastation we've had. I hope and prayers that you and all the others are able to get help and get those roads fixed so you can get around better.

My heart goes out to all those who are suffering in this disaster. I hope FEMA, The Red Cross and The Salvation Army are there helping out. Take care, be safe. Yes, we can all take a lesson from this. Things can change in a heart beat.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family and all the families affected by this act of nature.

My company has offices in Louisville and I have been hearing all about it from the employees who are affected.
