Maintenance Update & Goals Galore!

Thursday, September 19, 2013

So far things are going great!
I've been sticking to my new calorie range but I have been eating a little more fattening things and in fact I've gone over my fat nutrition goal for the past few days. But I've had great healthy breakfasts and I've been cooking a lot more this week. I even made some homemade healthier chicken pot pies last night!

Even though I'm maintaining right now I'm really working on and coming to grips with to be healthy and strong I need to cut out more of the "unhealthy" foods and put in a lot more healthy options. Like one chili cheese dog (on of my favorites) with a big bowl of salad (with homemade avocado lime dressing!) And finally I'm okay with that.

I've been doing a lot of raw vegan recipe searching and I have to say I'm excited about it! Like I said before I'm not going full raw vegan but it's teaching me I don't need a lot of fatty sweet desserts, dressings, or condiments. All I need is fresh straight from the Earth goodness made in a new way!

I'm pretty pumped right now and I'm excited about my future and all I'm learning and going to learn!

Imagine you are perfectly content with every aspect of your life. What does that look like?
I've been working on this for a while, in fact for my degree I've written a list of goals. Personal - I want daily time with God's word, 60 minutes at the gym 5 or 6 days a week, and more fresh foods and less "unhealthy" foods (I have a more specific goal but it's long) Professional - get a Ph. D of Arts in Christian Education (Christian counseling and ordained pastor). I want a weight loss camp for girls. Family - daily walks, daily prayer. I'd love two more babies and to renew my vows with my husband soon. Own our own home, get more chickens, a pig, two horses, two cows, have a huge organic garden.

Well that's about it. I can't believe it's almost lunch time here (11:11a) I still need to get my kitchen cleaned and ready to go to the gym tonight for body pump!!! woot woot!

Thought I'd share a random picture of my son in his Halloween costume (I got it early) watching a movie with his Daddy!

Have you come across the choosing raw website? It has lots of yummy things and some great info. Also, I love the Post Punk Kitchen and Fat Free Vegan. PPK is great for slightly more indulgent things, FFV is great for when you need something a little lighter.

Good luck with all of those goals.
