The Awesome List

Thursday, September 19, 2013

Everyone has one, but not everyone knows what to put on theirs. Think hard and you'll find things you're awesome at or ways you behave in an awesome manner.

This will work for anyone who needs to work on better self-esteem or even for the people who are just having a bad day.

There are several things you can put on your list now. As you work to better yourself, you'll find new thing to add to your list.

So title your list: "The Awesome List" and add things you're good at now.

My Awesome List:

I'm a good listener.

I'm always on time and if I'm running late for reasons out of my control, I'll call and make sure the other person knows that I'll be a few minutes late.

I can work things out with people I'm disagreeing with by talking with them.

I take care of my kids by feeding them, making sure they have clean clothes, reading to them, and teaching them how to be polite by example.

I'm able to have a successful marriage because we communicate.

I have managed to become really good friends with my mother.

I know how to clean well, even if I don't care to do it.

I have the ability to learn and crave new knowledge all the time.

I care for people, especially those who don't have the rights others have now.

I know how to make my money count (my Mom told me this once) by getting the best deal with the money I have.

I enjoy reading for pleasure.

I volunteer my time to make other people's days easier.

I donate to the food shelf food that I'd eat as often as possible.

I'm taking care of my health by eating the best foods for me and walking.

I know the difference between they're, their and there.

I'm sure if I thought longer I'd have a longer list, but this is an example of what an Awesome List should look like. What is your list? I'd love to see yours.

Today's Holidays: Linus Van Pelt's Birthday, Hermione Granger's Birthday, International Talk Like a Pirate Day and National Butterscotch Pudding Day.

What a great blog. Makes one think. I feel I am an awesome person because
1.I can bring a smile to patients who walk thru the doors of the cancer center where I work.
    2. I have a wonderful marriage of 43 years with my best friend. He is an amazing man.
    3. I enjoy my 7 grandkids and when I spend time with them I make memories with them that will last a lifetime.
    4. I live for the moment and realize our lives can change in the blink of an eye.
    5. I am taking good care of myself, learning to eat healthier and live better.
    6. I stop and smell the roses.
Thanks so much for reminding us to see why we are amazing. You are an awesome person for doing this.

What a great list!! I think we are all so good at naming the things that are out pitfall; it's not as easy to list things we are good at. But you've shown that we don't have to do outrageous over the top things to be awesome. Just be normal, be kind, be polite, be you.... you ARE awesome!! emoticon

I loved your list. I relate to the last one. I can also use who and whom, and well and good, properly! I can even spell. (No one on the internet seems to care any more.)
2 of my favorite characters have their birthdays today: Hermione and Linus.
I think I'll start my Awesome List today. Great idea!

You're so right that we all need to make our own "awesome list"! Sometimes we want to compare ourselves to others, but we each have our own strengths!
