Getting rid of stuff I really don't need

Thursday, September 19, 2013

I cleaned out my work bag after I came in late this evening after working a 12 hour shift today. It was disgusting, down right gross. I can't believe the I let it get that bad and filled with stuff I didn't need to carry back and forth everyday. Lay aside all that weight, getting rid of stuff I really don't need.

The simple act of cleaning out my dirty work bag, a bag I have been dragging back and forth to work for weeks made me think of it as carrying extra burdens that we do not have to carry-all for naught. As I was pulling things out, I realized all this extra junk I had no business carrying around, just like all this extra weight, or taking up someone else's burdens. It was a light bulb moment. Living in the past, holding onto old grudges, burdens is not healthy, it ages a person and just a time waster.

Time for some internal cleansing, soothe my soul and really get down to basics of living the life as God so desire for me, a child of the King!

Very thought provoking. Sometimes the weight we carry feels so good when we let it go, both physically and emotionally.

I guess I will get rid of some of the stuff I don't need also.
And maybe that exercise equipment I don't use in the house, cause I would rather be outside.

    good job!!

I try not to carry a purse - because it just gets fuller and heavier - when I was teaching, I carried a bag of unnecessary stuff back and forth every day - and the motivation to clean it out just disappears...
