Exercise interrupted...

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

Yesterday I had planned to go swimming in the morning but decided to write the bill for my lecture first to send it off and get moeny asap... did not realise that the morning swim in indoor pool only lasts until nine - had showered and changed to swimsuit before I noticed... but okay, came to wrok very clean emoticon

Decided to bike to lunch meeting, would give me 40 minutes of exercise "free" - but was too much in hurry and dived out on the street with too little attention - a car came, I hade to turn abruptly not to get hit so I fell rright on my nose and forehead. Stayed on the ground for a while because I really thought I had killed yself or at least broken my nose but it was just a little nosebleed and siome bruises on nose, forehead, hands and knees.

But little old ladies are not build to crash - the adrenaline obviously pumped and I have aches in all body today. And did not sleep that well since my nose swell and I could not breathe freely, destroyed my sleep.

Decided to go home and lay down, switched from bike to car and attended the meeting first. Noticed that I was a little bit shocked, life can rally change in an instant, I was lucky not to get severely hurt.

You're in my prayers for a easy recovery! I'm so glad you weren't hit by the car or injured more severely. You're right about those instant, life-changing events. We just never know....

Good Grief! I'm sorry you took a fall; but so glad you weren't more seriously hurt! A banged up nose is bad enough but it could have been so much worse. No, we don't bounce back like youngster's anymore. I really admire your commitment to fit exercise into your day; I think that's the real long term answer. But, there is a time to rest our aging bones and this sounds like one of them. Be well. emoticon

Oh dear. Yes that is shocking when you have a fall like that, I know, I fell from my bike some time ago and was totally surprised and feeling unwell because of it. I'm sorry you hurt your face, must have been such a scare. Get well soon!.
