was feeling pretty discouraged by the scale yesterday, and spending the evening solo so after a supper that was right on the dash plan and sometime poking around the house I took myself over to Walmart to get some birthday cards, odds and ends and prowl the aisles for something new to add to my food routine. I came home with some Apple Pie Larabars, more sugar-free jello, and some frozen strawberries. i've been having the strawberries thawed and smashed up mixed into lowfat vanilla yogurt as breakfast and it makes yogurt tolerable. I spent some time getting my breakfast & lunch for today ready. and last night I told myself i would not let the scale drive me crazy because I am feeling healthier and that is a bigger goal than a specific weight loss.
this morning I checked the scales again, and WAHOO! YIPPEE AND YABBA DABBA DOO! 2 pounds gone. I am happy about that, and probably unreasonably proud but I am proudest of the fact that I went to Walmart last night and came home without one single candy bar, snack cake or other junk food. even though the place seems to be piled high with halloween candy and holiday baking supplies. Will power is the muscle I've been exercising and I think its getting stronger!
