Cut out the junk!

I had my weekly weigh in this morning and I lost 2.2 lbs. For the past 2 days I've only eaten lean proteins & veggies (1 apple), so cutting out the junk food and "bad" carbs really helps! Also, as I mentioned in my blog yesterday, cutting down on the processed food cuts down on sodium!

I didn't weigh myself Monday morning, so I'm not sure what damage I did over the weekend. I decided to stick to the weekly Wednesday weigh-ins.

I'm really pleased with the loss and glad I'm heading in the right direction back to my goal weight - need to loose an additional 2.2 lbs. My goal is to get back to "wiggle room" weight by the end of October, so I got about 4 lbs. to go.

This will be a great start to the "holiday season" and hopefully I'll carry the momentum through the end of the year and not find myself having to loose 11+ lbs. in January!

DH and I ran on Monday. He was working job #2 all day, so he almost "blew it off" because he was really tired, but he decided to just do the best he could. At his physical, the doctor also told him that the best way to increase your "good cholesterol" was to increase your heart rate with cardio.

We went to another greenway trail (still trying to avoid some of the road construction!). We started our warm up walk and was having such a nice time talking and catching up since we've not had a lot of time together lately, that we walked for about a mile. We ran for a mile, walked a little more and then ran for another .5 mile. We got in about 2.5 miles walking/running. Not a stellar run, but we got in over 30 minutes of exercise and a nice chat.

DH is working overnights this week, so he was able to go to DD#2's volleyball matches. It was another night of region play. 2 of the teams were awesome (ranked #2 & #4 in the State) DD#2's team lost the first match to #4. They did really bad the first game of the match and almost won the second.

They played another region team the second match and killed them in 2 games (they are not top ranked!). #2 & #4 played each other at the same time and it was hard not to watch their match! They were really awesome and the match went to 3 games. Anyway, DD#2 did pretty good again and she just looks like she's having a good time!

I'm planning to run again tonight. DH probably won't run with me since he has to go to work @ 9 pm. We are planning to grill out, so I'll try to run before taking DD#3 to youth group.

Tomorrow is more volleyball and I'm not sure what I'll do on Friday. DD#3 wants to play tennis again, so we might do that.

I'm not doing too well with my September goals - loose 3.2 lbs. (I've lost .2), run 3 x weeks (I'm actually doing this despite not being able to do the running class) and strength training emoticon

but I've cut out the junk and I have renewed optimism that I've "stopped the trend"!
