An unexpected compliment!

Well the back has mostly recovered from spinning class the other day. I am going to try to make it to class tonight, but it will be a stretch since class starts at 5:30 and I work till 5:00. But it might be doable. If not, I have my workout planned for the recumbent bike and know what I plan to do. So I walked to the gym and back last night and had a nice weight lifting routine in there. 40 minutes of walking and about 30 minutes working out. I am only lifting twice a week, mainly to try to keep some muscle. But it felt good and nothing hurt exceptionally bad. I am taking the lifting real slow right now. So, it is going according to plan.
It was sort of funny when I got to the gym. Since I walked I didn’t have my keys which means I didn’t have my membership card. I have done this many times so it isn’t a big deal. So I give the cute girl that is at least half my age working the counter my phone number to look up my account. And I get the comment; “Wow you are looking good!!” I always forget they have the pictures on the account. So talk about someone feeling great while they are working out! Then it dawned on me, she is the first and only person who works there who has commented on the weight loss. And I have been going there religiously for 7 months. But hey, I won’t complain. I got a compliment from a 20 year old girl. I am riding that high for awhile.
I have a nice little one night trip this weekend. My son is running at a big cross country meet about 90 miles away. So they are going down on Friday night and I am heading down to watch. They ran this meet 2 years ago and I was one of the parent drivers. Which turned out bad because no one explained we would be all consumed with team stuff until about 10:30 at night. I took my youngest and had planned to swim with her and then drive to the meet. She didn’t get to swim until about 10:30. So this time she and I are making it our own little trip. We have a hotel right next to the park where the meet is. She and I are driving down alone, going to swim and stuff all Friday night, then walk to the meet on Saturday. I did talk to my son about it and he is fine with us not being there until Saturday. And it’s not like we spend time with him anyway since he is so busy with team stuff. She and I have done a lot this year but I am not sure why I am looking so forward to this trip. It’s only one night. And we aren’t really doing anything special, but out of anything we did, I am looking very forward to this.
Anyway, hopefully I will get to spin again tonight but have a tough workout planned for the bike either way. So if I don’t make it, it’s all good.
