Here we go....

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

I have spent the past 1.5 days since joining sparkpeople being really busy with planning, plotting, processing and pondering on the best way to embark on my weightloss program. I have also been in complete procrastination mode regarding the next step which is actually some sort of physical action !!

Today I spent many hours getting to know the sparkpeople website, updating my sparkpage, particpating in some message forums and questionnaires and obtaining as many points anywhere and everywhere they are offered - I now have over 400 points! That's exciting! Wish losing weight was that easy!! It's been a wonderful distraction and extended my procrastination just one more day!!

As well as updating all of my stats and uploading some photos etc today I am resolving to blog regularly and upload progressive photos so I can see and be motivated by the visual weightloss that will commence, that is once of course when I stop the planning and plotting phase and embark on the action and exercise phase! This will all take place tomorrow! After all, I did need today to map out some walking tracks using the tools online to do this. I got excited and mapped out a route that measured 6.6kms? Am I kidding myself??!! I have never even walked a few kms let alone almost 7kms before in my life, but it is now there for when I want to challenge myself. When that will be, I don't know.... some random moment in the future - maybe even as soon as tomorrow....?? My dog is now panting with complete anticipation when he saw me locate his collar and lead from the back of the cupboard. Unfortunately he does not understand the word 'tomorrow' or 'one more sleep' so he will need to remain in his anxious and anticipationary state for the meantime. Anticipationary - is there even such a word??!!

So today I spent much time on many weightloss preparation tasks including shopping for food for the next 7 days as I am embarking on the 7 day GM diet - if you want to look this up, just google 'GM diet' or 'General Motors diet' and you will find it. I did this 7 day program a month ago and easily lost 2.8kgs without even exercising. I did it then because I was about to embark on a 10 day road trip holiday and I knew I would be eating lots of take away and drinking lots of wine and beer. It worked perfectly. I lost 2.8 kgs before going on my trip and then gained it back - I am now exactly the same weight I was before I left for holidays whereas the person I holidayed with is around 3kgs heavier !! So the GM diet works for me and I will be doing it again to kick start my metabolism- as well it removes my cravings for bad food and drink - which is one of the most important benefits for me. The weightloss that I achieve after the 7 days is just a bonus compared to the many other benefits I feel by the detoxing process. My energy is boosted and I feel lighter and my skin radiates and my eyes are big and bright and my mood is extremely positive.

So all that to look forward to - I would love to hear from you if you embark on the GM diet - I am very excited about my future and my next blog .... tomorrow ....

welcome to the Sparkies down Under team. Change one thing at the time. When I first started I planned on doing 10 minutes of exercises a couple times a day. I still think this is a good place to start. Have you checked out the videos on here as these can also encourage you to start.
