Yesterday (Monday) I threw some workout clothes and shoes into a tote and brought them to work. I could not wait until work was over so I could go walk with a c25k plan. I was excited all day...yet scared. Was I going to be too tired? Would I be too hungry? Would people stare at me as they drove by? Would someone from work see me?
Well, I decided to let any negatives roll off - after all, everyone had a starting point, and this is mine :)
After work I changed and cautiously began my walk. I loved it! I also had a wonderful surprise - there is actually a paved path - a series of them right there! I am not usually that lucky so I enjoyed it even more.
Tonite I continued with 2 workout videos from Sparkpeople's New You series. I am excited! I couldn't give you any reason why this week is so much better than the past. I feel like my past attempts have educated me for today. I know now that it doesn't have to be perfect to get started. For example, I can really use a playlist on my phone to make the walks more enjoyable and keepnup the pace. But I still did 2 miles without one. The playlist will come when I quit thinking that it has to be perfect too ;)
I planned and prepped several days of meals ahead so I can just grab breakfast, lunch and a snack in the morning and go to work. No morning prep required! Fruit and veggies in the kitchen is a must! I have discovered that it's okay to go to the store JUST FOR FRUITS AND VEGGIES WHEN I'M RUNNING LOW! Sounds elementary, right? But that's just not how I think about grocery shopping.
I'm hoping the rest of the week goes well. Praying it does :)
