Been almost a year

Been almost a year since I've posted a blog. Quick life recap:

-Working out 5-6 times a week. Upper/Lower split for weights, with rowing or running for cardio. With fall here, I'll be running even more and hopefully can get back up to half-marathon distance with ease (last 'long' run was 10 miles and I cramped at the end, but it was 80 degrees and about 7pm...)

-80-90% vegetarian since March 2013. That's been interesting, and it's not full-time though I do consciously try. A co-worker challenged me to go vegetarian for Lent and I successfully did so, and I noticed I trimmed down probably a good 5 pounds during that 40 day period (plus I worked out more), so I decided to keep going.

-Working full-time at a management consulting/defense contracting firm. Really enjoying the work and the challenges and the people I work with. Ups and downs, as usual, but very pleased to be working where I am.

-Had some emotional issues recently, and coming up on the elusive 3.5 years without a serious girlfriend, which is quite a feat in today's world. Work is keeping me busy, and I'm discovering I'm a bit more extroverted than I was during graduate school - I'm enjoying going out and grabbing a beer here and there, or meeting new people at my firm.

    Been wondering what you've been up to, CJ. Glad your work is to your liking, and good on ya for socializing more. Interesting challenge, going vegetarian for Lent. I'm gonna think about trying that. Carry on bravely!

    Yeah on the vegetarian thing. I find I'm a lot healthier as well when cutting out meat. I've never gone vegan, but I have gone vegetarian (fish, dairy, and eggs only) for five weeks straight before. I liked it a lot.

You should check out Scott Jurek's Eat to Run book. Excellent read.

    Interesting....how do you keep lifting heavy on a veggie diet?

what are your staples?
