Iím constantly telling others on SparkPeople that we can only control what we eat and how we exercise and canít control the number on the scale. I truly believe that and believe that if we take good care of our bodies, the weight will drop off eventually.
With that said, Iíve certainly gotten frustrated with my weight remaining stagnant for the last MONTH.
Until today when I stepped on the scale and had lost 3.4 pounds since last Tuesday!
Iím happy but not elated because, again, I know that the real importance is on healthy habits and not the scale. But with that said, Iím glad the scale finally caught on to how hard Iíve been working! Iím now well under 50 pounds below my highest weight, about 40 pounds below where I was at when I started this current SparkPeople journey about a year ago (yeah, slow weight loss, but at least it will stick!) and now less than 50 pounds to go until I reach my theoretical goal weight.
I say theoretical because I think that goal may be too little for my fairly muscular body and I may have closer to 30 to go. Either way, Iím getting there.
Iíve been a member of a 50-99 pounds to lose SparkTeam for quite a while. Itís helped me find some people who have been tremendous supports. While I realize I donít suddenly have to remove myself from that team just because I no longer have 50 pounds to lose, Iím treating this like a pair of jeans that are now too big Ė you canít hold on to them or else it gives yourself permission to grow back into them. Iím giving myself until tomorrow to get used to that idea of leaving that team and then Iím off to a new SparkTeam adventure!
Sometimes I feel proud of my progress, but more often, my healthy habits just feel like normalcy now, which makes it feel funny when pounds come off all at once! Either way, Iíll take it!
