I'm not liking this

I broke down and went to the Chinese Buffet this afternoon. I have an adult handicapped daughter who loves Chinese food. She's been saying to me "Just because you're on a diet doesn't mean I have to give up Chinese food". OK. My husband is out to a meeting this evening so I decided today would be a good time. I skipped lunch ( I know, I know) and went about 4 pm so it was a late lunch/ early dinner. I've tracked as close as possible what I ate and I'm still within my goals. Steamed Rice, Sliced chicken breast with broccoli, steamed shrimp, sauteed mushrooms (no way to figure out what's in the sauces though). Spread over two meals I guess it wasn't too bad BUT I don't like this overfull feeling anymore. I feel sluggish and bloated and sleepy. I'm not liking this. emoticon

It is all of the sodium and MSG throwing your body off. I know my hubby cannot go there anymore because of his dialysis. Oh well, it is a rare treat for you, and maybe get the other daughter to spread it out very other month,

Seems like you made the best decisions possible. You are probably feeling that way from extra sodium but it will pass. Drink your water!

There's nothing wrong with a cheat meal. I seldom eat them because I hate that nasty feeling afterward. You could consider ordering Chinese takeout for your daughter and making a great healthy meal for you. Make it fun by eating separate meals in a park or doing something new after dinner.

It only shows that you recognize that feeling overfull is not good for you. Tomorrow is a new day; so enjoy today and continue on your journey tomorrow.
    The best of luck!!!

It will pass. Don't beat yourself up. Chalk it up to a cheat meal and keep it moving. Drink lots of water to flush all that sodium out. You did better than me because if i go to the buffet, I'm going to EAT.
