Photo blog: cycling in Austin! (repost)

I'm reposting this photo blog with the photos right side up this time. (Yes, I am a perfectionist at times!)
I rented a bicycle from Barton Springs Bike Rental for $7.50 an hour. I ended up biking for 49 minutes, so for me this was a sweet deal! The bike rental guys were very nice and helpful, and gave me this map of the possible trails near the lake, which I kept as a souvenir and a reminder that I really did it!
Disturbingly, they did tell me though that "helmets are optional." Not for this lady, they aren't! So I strapped on a lovely mint green model and was on my way!
The path was mostly tree-lined and gorgeous, so even though it was midday, I felt cool for the first half of the trip. I also got to cross a couple bridges, one of which was shaded by the underpass. Ah, shade!
I made it all the way around the smallest loop trail, 3.47 miles. Back at the shop, I had the guy take the requisite "photo op" shots:
Oops, I was kind of slouching in that one. Oh well. Still awesome!!!
