OK, my 3 simple things I'm doing this week 1) Cutting back on my daily intake of Red HOT Blues Tortilla chips; 2) adding 15 minutes of yoga or exercise a day (of some sort), and 3) Walking around the block in the afternoon BEFORE I allow myself a snack of fruit.
Day 1: So simple to make these changes. I ate half my normal intake of RHB tortilla chips (that's 1, way to go). I added an extra walk for 30 minutes (way to go, me! That's 2). I took my bike out for 30 minutes before allowing myself a snack in the afternoon (weird day at work so I could do this) - that's 3. Everything went my way and I even Over-Delivered!
Day 2: A friend surprised me by dropping in for lunch. We went to a Mexican restaurant and I brought a third of my lunch home (pat on my own back). I did eat some chips and salsa so I don't think I truly accomplished #1. Then my work load exploded today (probably because yesterday was slow) and I pushed my extra exercise off till later. Then discovered I have a dentist appointment at 4PM today (I was thinking it was Thursday!) Those 3 simple changes are all of a sudden a bit more difficult to complete but because I'm thinking about it I'm plotting action that will keep me in compliance. Hmmmmm.
Here is what I'll do. For my 15 minutes of extra exercise (#2)? I'll go out for a short walk when I'm done at the dentist. For my afternoon snack (that's #3) I'm not hungry at all so I don't need to worry about that today. But I may add 15 minutes of yoga anyway.
This seemed so simple when I set this up just yesterday! 1 day I did it all and the next 2 out of 3. I would have thought I'd just glide through these little changes this week but it will take more effort to figure out what to do when life interferes with my great plans. The great thing right now is that I'm conscious of my commitment to myself and trying to work on making these 3 simple things part of my lifestyle.
I still feel good about the challenge! Anyone else giving it a try?
