One Year Ago Today

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

One year ago today I signed up on SparkPeople. What have I learned this year?

I am so much more aware of what I am eating.
I am exercising more.
I am eating better.
I am drinking more water.
I have met some really nice people and developed some close friendships because of it.
I have gotten the support and help that I so badly need on this journey.
I'm looking at this as a life change and not just another diet.
I love my teams, the camaraderie and support! I feel like I've known some of you all my life. Thank you for being there every step of the way!

I unfortunately have not lost as much weight as I would have liked to by now, but I did have knee replacement surgery in December that derailed me for a few months. I'm making progress though and I'm seeing results on the scale. Slow and steady!

I'm very thankful for SparkPeople and everything that I learn everyday! emoticon

Happy Sparkversary! I too signed up just about a year ago and had knee replacement surgery in May. I could not have made the progress that I have without Spark and the teams I belong to. Good job on your progress! emoticon

Hi Shirley - I'm just finally getting around to reading member's blogs - such a nice one!! You HAVE learned alot and there's lots to be said for that. I have given up on SP once before (about 3 years ago) and while my mind is leaning toward stopping for awhile now -- I've struggled on. I'm hoping now that the wedding is over that I'll be able to think more clearly and about myself more! I mean I've never stopped going to aquazumba - but do I even record the minutes?? NOPE - now that's sad....but I'm going to try to do better. Reading your blog has helped me to do just that!

emoticon great that you have stayed with this for one year as most people give up and quit. Keep going. Make this your best year ever.

Are you a Capricorn? They have problems with their knees.

I am close behind you with joining. I didn't lose as much as I wanted, but am happy to be less in spite of my partial knee replacement! I also appreciate all the encouragement you have given me!
