Can 3 Weeks Change Your Life?

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

When life gets busy my good habits are the first to tumble. This summer I was on the go and at best maintained my weight. I really enjoyed the summer and likely will never have another one like it. Now fall is here and I am resetting my priorities.

In the last month 2 former co-workers had terminal diseases and one has passed. They were younger than me and both we over weight. In the last 5.5 years I have been Sparking I think about the weight loss journey with the destination being a more attractive, healthy, slim body. Now I am adding longevity!

Hubby has continued to exercise and lose weight and is an excellent Sparker. He has long early morning walks so he gets it out of the way. It started with my desire to get out walking early in the morning while we were in Mexico in Feb. When I arrived home I contracted croup and was sick for a few weeks. Alas, I did not regain the momentum, but I am pleased that hubby continued.

I am will be away for 3 weeks travelling in Alberta and maybe Saskatchewan too. I want to reset my priorities and focus on my health again. During this time I will exercise 2 hours daily and have nutritious calorie appropriate meals. Can 3 weeks change my life? I will let you know when I get back.

Happy travels. I know you will make exercising your priority, and will get a new start.
I am sorry to hear about your former co-workers. A neighbor of mine died last week, totally unexpected (in and out hernia operation, followed by an infection) at age 39, with two boys, 12 & 9. We are all totally devastated. Besides being intelligent and having traveled all over the world on business, she was very athletic. Very sad.

Enjoy your trip!

I think our life can be changed sometimes in less than that emoticon . I hope you will make the changes you desire. glad to hear you had such a good summer . honestly I don't believe that being slim has that much to do with longevity. mom 's family was on the chubby side and they lived much longer than my father's skinny family. probably extremely morbid obese persons are at greater risk but that's all.
I was looking at my patients who passed away and they were not more overweight than the others. biggest numbers were relatively young people , in their fifties , normal weight but very stressed . unfortunately modern medicine doesn't care about teaching people stress fighting techniques, probably because you can't make them a pill and sell them. that's just my opinion emoticon
have fun and we're waiting for pics! emoticon emoticon
