First- Fitness and Food
I've been doing really well with exercise so far this month. Doing different workouts, doing yoga when I need to stretch out and rest from more intense workouts. I really need to step it up with my eating. I did okay last week, but went a little overboard over the weekend during our camping trip. I think I did fine on food and alcohol for the weekend, minus an ungodly amount of cake.
DH got into a really bad car accident on Thursday. He was hit by another driver on his front fender and it flipped his car over. By some miracle, he walked out of the accident with no injuries. He was a little sore over the weekend, but feels fine now. We're waiting to hear back from the insurance company on the status of his car (I'm guessing totaled, but you never know).
He decided that instead of the backpacking trip we planned, we'd go car camping. We did a ~4.5 mile hike Friday afternoon to Elliot Knob (highest point in GWNF). On Saturday, DH stayed at the camp with a few people and the rest of us did an 8 mile hike. The 8 miler felt like the bunny slope compared to the Elliot Knob hike.
Today is also out 2nd wedding anniversary. We actually don't have solid plans for the night. May do dinner in Richmond, or find somewhere local. Our one friend couple in Newport News just had their baby this morning, so we'd like to go visit with them this afternoon.
Also found out yesterday that I'll be out of town for work for two weeks at the end of October/ beginning of November. I'll be home for 3 days in the middle, but that's a lot of travel. I'll definitely need to get a plan together and pack some foods accordingly so I'm not stuck eating crap the whole time.
Anyways, sorry I've been so absent lately
I really love this community and want to be an active member. Hoping things will slow down a bit so I can concentrate on getting back to where I want to be!
