Back but very busy with DS

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

Good Morning; I simply had a marvelous time with Adrienne. She is such a pleasure to be around. DD and SIL could not believe how she mentally grew in 10 days. She is talking much more and more opinionated. I told them we gave her much attention. The area that they moved at Stanford University is such a great environment for the baby and them. We walked every where. I got in over 16,000 steps per day. I love an environment where we can walk every where. We slept with our windows open. It was in the 80's during the daytime. It was very comfortable walking every where. emoticon emoticon emoticon DS has so many appts this week. I am managing his schedule. He is doing much better but has memory loss when it comes to his schedule. My PTSD counselor said short term memory is very common with head injuries from concussions. DS had two in Iraq and 1 from a car accident. He has had some good days more than not lately. It sure helps me with anxiety and stress that I can see progress. The only problems I had with trip to California is SIL. He is a know-it-all and very arrogant. I just kept my own counsel, but sent a prayer to my DD.
Have a good day!! emoticon

I have a SIL just like that. It is sometimes hard to bite our tongues, but it is best. Glad you enjoyed your time with GD and DS is doing better.

Wonderful and happy notes on your visit AND your son! Deep breaths going to all those appointments for both of you.

Holy Moly, 16K steps a day, you go gurl!

Glad to read that things seem to be smoothing out for you and your son. Glad you got to spend time with him and his family. Sounds like your GD is really growing physically and mentally. I'll bet it was hard to leave. I miss mine already and it's only been a little over a week.

Good to hear you enjoyed your time and was able to unwind in Cali. It is a nice place to be and the comfort of knowing all is well with DGD, DD and SIL can put your mind at ease about them. DS seems to be getting along just fine and time will only tell. Prayers are always in order. Take care and keep on, keeping on! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Glad you enjoyed your time w/Adrienne! That's awesome. HUGS

Good luck w/DS's appointments. Glad that he's allowing you to help when remembering things is difficult for him. That's progress in my book.

As for your DD, well, I wish her all the best. I'm afraid I'd have difficulty dealing with arrogance. **SIGH** All I can say is, wait til Adrienne is a teen! She'll add humbleness to his personality profile! They have a way of doing that!

We have a SIL we do not like. They've been married 30 years. The important thing is he loves her and she loves him. They've worked out their marriage in a different way than we would prefer but they are happy.

A good report. Hopefully time and age will give SIL the needed jolt... but some never get past that kind of attitude. Good for you for "sloughing it off"... and good luck to your DD!
