Moving Forward!

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

Since being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in January of 2011, I have become aware of just how much discipline it takes to stay healthy. The start of school has changed my focus from me to my students. Now I am getting into a new routine. I have to stay on top of this if I want to enjoy good health in my senior years. Sunday, we hiked through Fox Forest to get to church, then found a ride home after service. Any way we can fit it in, we get our runs, walks, bikes and hikes.
Keep moving forward!

Yes, it does take such discipline to keep things in balance, but the rewards are bountiful!

healthy blood sugar
healthy nerves and arteries
healthy skin (our largest organ)
happy pancreas!
healthy energy

The list goes on (and you know that, I know!)

HUGS and just know you're not alone!

Sorry for your diagnosis :( Its true you really have to be careful with everything and regular exercise is critical and you are doing a great job! A walk through a forest would be just lovely and highly motivating! You live in a gorgeous area!
Keep up the great work!

It takes a lot of self discipline. My late DH opted to eat as he wanted and make up for it with insulin and other meds, rather than trying to live healthfully. He died sooner than he needed to, I think. You do well!

That's a good idea! There are a lot of creative alternatives rather than defaulting to the car. On Saturday morning, we needed milk so instead of driving to the store, I put the kiddos in the jogger and ran there and back. Success isn't just about the big decisions and commitments, it is a series of small decisions that add up to a healthy lifestyle. Keep up the Spark!
