oh, what a great houseboating family trip. We waterskied, we kayaked, we hiked (a little), we played cards, we ate, we drank... it was great to catch up with everyone. It was also great to be able to cook with family and enjoy the process - I definitely enjoy prep/talking as much as (if not more than) sitting down to the meal itself! I realized that recently, my portions have been out of whack and it's time to get back to basics.
It was also great to get away from conventional exercise for a while and rediscover the concept of play. I'm definitely going to get more creative in my workouts to keep having fun! Kayaking was great, and I'm going to use the row machine at school when I get gym access next week. I'm loving the full body workout as opposed to running (still not running as much, but I think I prefer it that way).
I got to do yoga almost every morning on the top of the boat with gorgeous views - what a treat. I definitely will do yoga at least 4 times a week back during 'normal' life. My only regret from this vacation is not taking enough family photos!
Today, I've biked 11 miles, done yoga, and some plant shifting to get settled back in. It feels good to get back in to the swing of things and to have a fresh start to the healthy regime!
