Ugh

Monday, September 16, 2013

I hate Mondays with a passion.

There's ongoing construction on part of the highway I take every day, so I took a really, really, really long route to get into work and left extra early. Apparently too early. I had over an hour to kill before I started my shift, so I stopped at Wegmans.

It was packed.

To top off the unbelievably large crowd, everyone on the road seemed to either have a lead foot or a need for speed. Once again someone ran a red light and I was almost side swiped. Once again people in front of me were going almost 10 miles under the speed limit. Once again some creepy guy was staring at me at a stop light.

I just want this week to be over with already emoticon

I drive almost 100 miles round trip to get to work so I can relate! Get some great music and sing along. Or books on CD. Anything to make that time your own.

Sorry you had such a crappy morning. Hope the day turned around for you. I don't miss commuting. One of the things I loved best about working graveyard shifts in downtown Chicago was driving in on and empty interstate and driving out to the 'burbs on an empty interstate and the inbound traffic looked like a parking lot.
One suggestion I have is to put on upbeat tunes or a positive book to listen to and cheer you on your way. A day that starts out badly is hard to turn around. Just try to turn the negatives into a positive. You have a reliable car. You have a job. You have a purpose. And if you get to work early, walk and walk and walk. Count your blessings or what is good in your life with each step. I promise it will help turn it around for you!

Ugh indeed. Reading this makes me so grateful for being able (forced) to walk to work! Not meaning to rub that in your face, it just left me genuinely thankful. So, thank you for that!

And Mondays, are Mondays..
