I don't even know what to call it, but for the most part, I am sticking to the 17 DD and so will call it that. I bought Chris Powell's book because I have been watching him on tv and find him so inspiring and motivating. I like his concept, but don't know if it is for me right now. I can't eat every 3 hours. There is no way around that. I am a teacher and if I have kids in my room, I can't be eating. Over the weekend, I played with my schedule as much as I could and it just isn't feasible. I do like his 9 minute missions and his shredder plan. I want to try to incorporate that into my day somehow. I tried to do a 9 minute mission this morning, but I only made it 4 minutes. I hate mornings. I am not a morning person. I just don't care in the morning! I know he wants you to do them in the morning to get your metabolism up...but I just don't see it happening at that time right now. I have been up with the 2 kids the last 5 out of 7 nights at least 3 times a night and it is wearing me out. I am tired all day and it is worse in the morning. I can't wait until they are older and consistently sleeping well. I figure I have at least 3 years before that will happen as my youngest is 2.
Anyway. I plan on doing the 9 minute missions and shredders in the afternoon. I plan to continue jogging. I love the stress relief I get from that. I finish too tired to even try and feel stress!
Food wise, I think that I will continue on the 17 DD. This will be round 2. I did it last year and lost 20 pounds and felt great. I have made terrible choices since then and didn't follow his maintenance plan at all and therefore have gained back 10 pounds. After reading Powell's book and then comparing it to Moreno's book, I think Powell's carb cycling is somewhat similar to Moreno's 2nd cycle. In the 2nd cycle you add starchy carbs every other day. There are numerous differences though. On Moreno's 17DD you get two servings of fruit a day before 2 pm and I really like that. Plus I have a lot of apples that I need to use up!
I don't really want to say that I am following either plan exactly, but I am taking their guidelines and doing what works for me at this time. I am going to count the days in 17 day cycles though. I hope to see progress. I hope to feel progress!
Weighed in this morning, so we will see in a week where I am!
Goals for this week:
1. Drink 8 cups of water a day.
2. Push protein and veggies with no starchy carbs
3. Get moving 17 minutes a day. Shred during 5 minutes of it (high and low)
