A Challenge To Myself

I've been at a plateau for quite a while now. Its frustrating, but I am hanging in there. I'm not about to give up on trying to reach my goal! I'm ready to start working harder than ever. I've given myself a challenge; to see how much progress I can make before New Years Day.



The holiday season is almost upon us. ( I actually saw my first Christmas commercial last week! ) And while I know that the holidays make it harder to stay on track, I am committed to doing just that! I'm using this site to countdown to New Years Day;

As I sit here writing this blog, there are 106 days until the new year! That seems like a long ways off, but I know the time will fly by, and I want to make the most of those days. I want to make progress!



My "plan of attack" is to track my food religiously; to weigh and measure my portions; to try to eat as healthy as possible (which means cutting down on processed food as much as I can); and to put my best effort into my workouts!



Cue the Rocky Theme Song music! I'm getting strong now, and when New Years Day comes, I won't have to make a resolution, because I will already be doing what I know I need to do! I'm excited by this challenge, and I look forward to seeing just how much progress I can make in the next 106 days!

    Great Challenge Pixie!!! I've been stuck in a plateau too and have let the discouragement keep me from moving forward, so I like the idea of this challenge!

Great blog, You are so awesome; tracking food & portions gets easier the more you do it. I wish you well, and the spark recipe's are great around the holidays. You can do this I know you can, so you go girl.

    Okay, you hit a tender nerve there. 106 days to lose 20 lbs. for me. I AM SO IN! Lately I have been slack in the portion control dept. and that is very not good. So here is my plan. Devise streaks again: 1 hr. of moderate exercise daily (bad heart...cannot do crazy like a ragdoll exercise) , follow my month long menu but measure the portions; it is a delectable menu and I should be able to stay at 1200 cals. daily. That is quite enough for my needs and should create a deficit of at least 500 cals a day. That is the second streak. My third streak will be water, nuff said. My fourth streak will be a job on a long list of things that need to be done and one job daily, if we go to town I will have to do an extra job ahead to keep up. I will reward myself whenever I get down 2 lbs. The reward list is still waiting to be made. More on that later. Thanks Pixie!!!!!

    We are in this together, all of us sparkies.
I too am stuck at a plateau.
I suck at ST.
So am just planning to walk 5K three to four times a week.
And do few ST videos on SP.

May I ask what do you snack on.

    At spin class this morning the teacher said it is 255 days to summer and that we are going to have amazing bodies by then! So true...we are going to work hard all fall/winter/spring and be knock outs by then! I am totally on board with you to stay focused through the New Year! We've got this!

    You can do this! I'm also pushing to see how far I can get by New Year's! I started last New Years and am at 72 pounds. My hope is to hit 100 down by 2014, but I will be happy with forward progress, a healthy and happy me, and pushing myself to master new challenges.
No ruts! The last plateau I hit, I bumped it up with tougher workouts, and let DDP and Jillian Michaels kick my butt. I'm at the point where I need to push myself to the next level too. Thanks for posting your blog Pixie.

    I am in a big pothole of issues this morning.
Tring to loose the weight I ganed in my 5 k and 6 donuts needed to eat donuts ot shave 12 min off end time
Now frustrated with house insurance going up 10000 and so depressed its my sisters birthday she died in 2011
