A Challenge To Myself

I've been at a plateau for quite a while now. Its frustrating, but I am hanging in there. I'm not about to give up on trying to reach my goal! I'm ready to start working harder than ever. I've given myself a challenge; to see how much progress I can make before New Years Day.



The holiday season is almost upon us. ( I actually saw my first Christmas commercial last week! ) And while I know that the holidays make it harder to stay on track, I am committed to doing just that! I'm using this site to countdown to New Years Day;

As I sit here writing this blog, there are 106 days until the new year! That seems like a long ways off, but I know the time will fly by, and I want to make the most of those days. I want to make progress!



My "plan of attack" is to track my food religiously; to weigh and measure my portions; to try to eat as healthy as possible (which means cutting down on processed food as much as I can); and to put my best effort into my workouts!



Cue the Rocky Theme Song music! I'm getting strong now, and when New Years Day comes, I won't have to make a resolution, because I will already be doing what I know I need to do! I'm excited by this challenge, and I look forward to seeing just how much progress I can make in the next 106 days!

    Pixie,
i am looking into two books for myself that might help you too:

Successful Fitness Motivation Strategies by Barbara Brehm and
Thin in Ten by Jessica Smith

both deal with exercise adherence, but some might be applicable to food tracking too. i struggle to exercise first thing in the morning, so i'm hopeful they will get me into the right frame of mind to be consistent.

    Great challenge Pixie! I too have been thinking a lot about the next couple of months. I do have a couple week vacation, so I know that I will be eating out more than I like to, but I'm determined not to over do it. Thanks for the count down link!

  I'm encouraged by your commitment. If getting started on the right path is the hardest step, getting past plateau's is probably a close second. Maybe incorporate a couple of healthy changes into your routine during the week to add some variety, especially when working out, changing up can trick your body into becoming responsive again. Variety is the spice of life after all, right?
