...in about an hour! I'm nervous.
TC and I WERE going to hike on our "mountain" (1800 feet) over the weekend, but that didn't happen. On Friday night I started feeling sick, like a sinus infection was coming on. My lymph nodes were swollen. My throat hurt.
By Saturday I knew I couldn't take the chance of getting sick, so we sat in the clinic for 3 hours before I could see a doctor. She prescribed some meds, even though it wasn't really bad, and then I waited for an hour at the pharmacy.
I took 3 doses of the antibiotic, and by Sunday -- all gone! Yay!!
BUT, no hiking.
I liken this to the week before a race, where you are supposed to back off the training and just rest up. That always feels weird to me, like I'm losing my fitness level. But I've had my rest week, and hopefully things will go well for us.
We packed waaay more than we wanted to, waaay more than we usually do, but here's the deal: we will be on a 4-day hike where temperatures will range between 40 and 70 degrees, and rain is forecast. We'll be spending time in the city, listening to lectures, taking tours, and eating in restaurants. So it seemed like we had to pack a little bit of everything!
Well, ready or not, here we go!
