I will be starting my 10th round of BLC on Sept. 25th. It will run 12 weeks and I hope to lose 10 pounds. While I am writing this blog with that goal in mind know that what I am going to say pertains to ANY of you moving down the road to "Health & Fitness". There is always a temptation to "wait" to begin a new challenge/diet/program etc. I think a small part of it comes from that "last supper" notion. You know what I'm talking about... I'm going to go to Steak 'n Shake and have a double cheeseburger, fries and milkshake because NEXT week I start my diet/challenge/fitness class etc.
It's an old trap and one that many of us find ourselves in time and time again BUT it doesn't have to be that way. I'm going to move into Operation Headstart! Why wait? ANY progress made before the initial weigh-in puts me that much further down that road. Momentum is a GOOD thing and I won't find myself struggling to start THEN if I start NOW.
As I have said before even small changes are better than NO changes so look now and see how you can get moving now. Waiting only increases the odds of GAINING.
Take a good look at your current program of nutrition and fitness. WHERE can you make changes NOW? What can you do to build momentum? Think of three SMALL changes you can make THIS week.
They might include:
1) skipping soda or limiting soda to 8 ounces per day.
2) tracking all food or if that's too hard track one meal per day.
3) drink 8 glasses of water a day or try 1 glass before each meal
4) get 30 minutes of cardio a day - if that's too much shoot for 10
5) Eat 3 servings of fruits and vegetables - or go for one! It still beats chips!
Get the idea? ANY steps forward are STEPS FORWARD.
