I have been asking some of my Spark Friends to pray for my friends Angus and Yvonne. Yvonne was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. When she went in for a biopsy she was told that her cancer had spread to her brain. She was told she would need radiation treatment for her brain cancer. She was sent home a week ago last Friday to await her radiation treatments. She took a turn for the worse over the weekend and had to be rushed back to the hospital Saturday evening. Angus has been beside himself worrying about her. On Sunday the doctors told Angus and the rest of the family that Yvonne wouldn't last long, and they might as well take her off life support and just wait until she passed.
Needless to say, all our church family has been praying for them. On Monday the doctors told Angus he should go home and get some rest. When he went back to the hospital Tuesday morning, Yvonne was awake and alert. She was busy visiting with people who had stopped by. Angus couldn't believe his eyes.
Today, one week after Yvonne had been taken off life support, she and Angus were in church. She is still very weak and needs lost of rest, but she is home again for a while. The doctors had originally given her 3 - 6 months to live. She is still scheduled for radiation and other treatments, but we will see how things go. Angus is very happy to have some more time with his beloved wife. He thanked everyone who had been praying for them and visiting and making meals for him. He said he never really believed prayer could make a difference, but he has now changed his mind. He believes that because of all the people who prayed for them, Yvonne has been given some extra time to be with her family.
We don't always understand why, but God has a reason for everything. I know He is watching over Angus and Yvonne.
