Happy Sunday night! It's been a hectic weekend. I need another weekend to recover!!! :/
I did the Bob Galloway ride yesterday with my friend Jean, who had hip replacement surgery in May, and this was her first organized ride since her surgery. It was a GORGEOUS day and a PERFECT course. It was the flattest course I've ever been on. I have a few rollers here in Central IL, but this was in a tiny Amish town near Decatur called Arthur, and there were no hills at all, completely flat. It was perfect for Jean. We had almost no headwind and sunny skies, and we rode 20 miles. I totally could've ridden out there all day!!! However I also had to chaperone a band trip so I had to get home. My goal for that ride for next year: get husband out there on a decent bike. It would be a great goal for him, but he has to get rid of the bike he has because it makes riding miserable for him. :( I want to get him a nice 29" bike that is big enough for him and is not so heavy that more than a couple miles makes him suffer!
Also, I will probably do the whole 60 miles next year because Jean has plans of getting her first century next summer. I'm pretty sure I'm going to put my foot surgery off another year, so hopefully when I'm teaching, I will have decent insurance. RIght now, husband's insurance blows chunks, seriously. Whenever we go to the dr, we get a bill in the mail several weeks later with all the charges the insurance wouldn't cover. Only good thing is we can write it off on our taxes, but OMG we never go to the dr. unless we are dying. :(
ANyway. My food is doing pretty good, actually I was at 1800 calories for the past 3 days so IDK how my weigh-in will be tomorrow. But at least I logged everything and I'm sitting at 78 straight days of logging. Completely unbelievable. But I don't know that I'll have a loss, I'm really just hoping to break even tomorrow.
Exercise is doing fine, but only did my ST one day last week. It was pretty nuts at school last week. TOnight I'm going to bed soon so I can get up early tomorrow and get back in my groove. I hate that the days are getting shorter and I'm dreading winter. It's a depressing time for me. I need daylight. And heat. ANyway I will probably ride my bike to and from the gym because that has been working out really well for me.
Oh btw, husband went to the dr again the other day for a followup on his diabetes and he is doing GREAT!!! He's in the low 100's, the meds are working out without side effects, and he is logging his testing 4x daily...and he's eating very well...AND he's down 10 lbs. since July 1. I'm pretty proud of him. :) :) :)
