WHERE WE DWELL
If we were to sit at home alone and just dwell on all the things going wrong in our lives, we would not only live a miserable life but we would never find the answers God wants us to find. Dwelling on misery brings misery. Dwelling on bad things brings bad thoughts. Dwelling on God brings godly thoughts. Rather than focusing on the misery we are in and the bad things that are happening in the world, we should focus on God and His mercy and His love.
Psalm 28:2 “Listen to my prayer for mercy as I cry out to you for help, as I lift my hands toward your holy sanctuary.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, we do cry out for mercy today. We cry out that You will help us to change our thoughts, to change our attitude, to change our ways so we can live better for You. We thank You for the opportunities You give us to change. We thank You for Your mercy when You forgive us and give us another chance. Help us today to go in the direction You want us to go allowing us to put aside the negative things in our lives and focus on the positive things we can do for others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
We need to be sure we are dwelling in God’s word and not the things of the world.
Where we put our focus on today is going to determine what type of day we have.
When we take the focus off of us and look at how we can help others, our days will be much better.
Dwelling on God brings godly thoughts and we can begin to dwell on Him by reading His word.
We should stop sitting around feeling sorry for ourselves and sad about our lives. It is never too late to focus on and live for God.
Psalm 58:11 “Then at last everyone will say, ‘There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.’” (NLT)
