I am trying to make the deadline to apply to Colorado University - Denver campus grad school by October 1st. I don't know whether or not a couple of things from my background will hold me back or not. I was fired from my last teaching job unfairly, and that might hold me back, although I was hired again by the grace of God at a Christian school. Also, in 2001 I have a misdemeanor on my record. I have a DWAI as well as a minor traffic violation. Those 2 things could stop me from getting into grad school. I thought DWAI's disappear after 10 years. It has been 12 years going on 13 years that I have been charged with this. I had one large glass of wine that night so long ago and then drove home. I was feedling sorry for myself because I had been divorced 4 years from my first husband, and it would still be another 3 years before I would meet my second husband. I am a little frightened that this misdemeanor could affect the current job I have now. Just a warning to you all, don't drink and go to parties where you do not know anyone. Especially when you have a long ride home. Whenever you go to a party you should at least know someone well that you can be able to talk to at least one person and have a decent conversation.
